About Us

Our Story

With a family history in building and carpentry in rural North Hampshire dating back over a hundred years, it is perhaps not surprising that we should have within us a sense of connection to the old ways and a love for the aesthetic traditions of times past.

It could be said that the acorns have not fallen very far from the Oak, but it is this very continuity, combined with new ideas that come with the passing of the generations that are our strengths and can give you peace of mind and confidence in our work.

Craftmanship & Quality

As a trusted name in the industry, Hartwood brings a wealth of experience through decades of crafting high-quality wooden structures.

Our friendly team of designers and carpenters are well versed in the Hartwood way of a calm but focussed approach to all tasks and while shepherd huts are a relatively new branch to our business, our passion for exceptional craftsmanship remains.

The result is a shepherd hut that not only exudes charm and character but is built to withstand the test of time.

Beautifully Bespoke

Your shepherd hut should be unique to you. So, even though what we do is steeped in tradition, we know that the possibilities for your hut are almost limitless. Whether you long for the feel of a bygone age and are looking for cosy and traditional, or are seeking something a little sharper and more contemporary, we can work with you to create the space that you want and best fulfils your requirements.
